The Superior Trailer Works of the US has been nominated for a new interchangeable platform system for trailers.
By combining a platform made of ultra high strength, cold reduced steel with a loadbearing frame of hot rolled, extra high strength steel, the weight was reduced by 20 percent compared with the earlier design. The platform has also become stronger and its wear resistance is higher. The higher load-carrying capacity offers major economic benefits to users.
