Gain deeper insight into SSAB’s transformation towards fossil-free steel production in Oxelösund. Explore the ongoing construction of the new electric arc furnace and visit the new Thin&Wide production line.

Mill visit including lunch

  • Rolling mill
    See the heart of the steel mill, where the 10 000 ton strong rolling mill pressing 290 mm slabs into the thickness of a few millimeters. 

  • EAF 
    SSAB is investing in the future and the EAF, Electric Arc Furnace, is on of the investments. Learn more about the progress and how the production will change accordingly in a near future.

  • Knowledge Service Center LAB
    Meet the team that work with the manufacturing recommendations such as welding, machining, bending and cutting of high strength steels. Learn more and experience thermal cutting of thick Hardox®, the drop hammer test as well as how SSAB evaluates the wear properties of all Hardox® steels.

  • Product exhibition and Additive Manufacturing
    See an exhibition of the products you want to learn more about like Hardox® wearplate, Strenx® performance steel, Toolox® engineering and tool steel and many more. In the same station you will also have a chance to learn how far SSAB have come with its high strength steel powder and in what areas it is being used today.

  • Thin and wide
    A new production line has been developed at SSAB Oxelösund to, in a more efficient way, create the products that our customers requests of a thinner and wider product range. See how it is done at this station.
