Creative design thinking has enabled Volvo Articulated Haulers AB of Sweden to put to use the combination of formability, strength and consistent properties of high strength cold forming steels in the new design of a tipper cab.
Together with a highly productive welding method, a rational production process has been created which enables the finished cab to comfortably meet all of the safety requirements. The high strength coldforming steel, combined with new thinking in the design and production processes, have enabled Volvo Articulated Haulers to reduce the number of components in the cab frame by two thirds.
