Swedish steel prize winner 2001
Rear seat frame structure for cars
2001 | Lear Corporation | Italy Winner 6 min read
Lear Corporation of Italy has a new rear car seat design – in which both cold and hot rolled extra high strength steel are used – has exceeded all expectations.
The seat is three-quarters the weight of previous designs and easily meets all the safety and price requirements set by the customer, Alfa Romeo. High strength steel is the material of choice, and this has proven to be one of the keys to the success of the development project. The seat has been installed in the Alfa Romeo 147, which has been named car of year 2001 by Europe’s automotive journalists.
