The roof of Sweden's new national football stadium - Swedbank Arena - is characterized by the light impression that the framework provides.
This is achieved by taking full advantage of the characteristics of Advanced High Strength Steels, as well as successful collaboration between the architect and Sweco Structure’s designers. To cope with the roof span of 162 meters and to fully exploit daylight, a thin and light design was used. The steels used have a yield strength of 460, 690 and 900 Mpa, which is much more advanced than steel normally used in buildings.
