Learn about steel production in the future, carbon footprint in design, and solutions for EV battery protection. In this track, you will get to know more about Docol® grades in the automotive industry and how to process the world’s strongest mobility steels.
The journey towards climate neutrality within the mobility industry has begun but must be accelerated. Carbon footprint will be an important design parameter. In this presentation, we will cover why embodied carbon footprint will be equally as important as today's design parameters.
The way to climate neutrality – Carbon footprint in the future
As Electric Vehicle (EV) platforms and models continue to multiply, new designs using high-strength steels to protect the battery are becoming available. In this presentation, we will explore how steel can be used in the design of sustainable battery protection solutions that are as light as aluminum. The presentation will cover solutions for both passenger vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
Sustainable battery protection
Our mobility customers keep raising the bar when it comes to utilizing the potential of high-strength steel in developing new applications. In this presentation, we will show examples of the successful use of our high-end steel grades, with a particular focus on safety and chassis components. We will also cover topics like forming and welding behavior as well as delayed fracture resistance.
Docol highlights – High-end steel grades for improved performance
The steel industry is rapidly shifting towards more sustainable production. In this presentation, we will compare iron ore-based production with scrap-based production, also covering Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) calculations and how future Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) requirements will affect the calculations.
Future sustainable steel production
Shape accuracy requirements are continuously increasing and at the same time so is the strength of steel. Going forward, this will make it even more important to know how to process these steels. In this presentation, our forming experts will show how to rollform martensitic steels and cold stamp hot- rolled complex phase (CP) steels.
